Kathaputali officially selected for Winter Films Awards

The Cinema Times, Kathmandu –  Nepali horror cinema KATHPUTALI (The PUPPET) has been selected at the prestigious International Film Festival “Winter Films”. The festival will be held from September 23rd to October 2nd where Kathaputali has been nominated under the ‘Winter Film Award Horror Film Competition’ category. It will screen on the 26th of September according to the website.

Veemsen Lama, the director of Kathaputali mentioned that its a proud moment for Nepal and Nepali film industry as the festival is one of the prestigious in its own. Lama is in the States for the same. The festival is being organized at Cinema Village Theatre 1.

The cinema stars Gauri Malla, Mithila Sharma, Karma, Shilpa Maskey, Usha Rajak, Subarna Thapa and others. Produced by Prithivi Rana Magar under the Prithivi Rana Production, the cinema has been co-produced by Bishal Gurung, Dharma Shrestha and Hem Thapa. Director Lama claims that the movie is different than the other horror movies.

Director Veemsen Lama has bagged many awards from other international film festivals. Kathaputali is his debut feature film. The dream project of Lama, Kathaputali will give the audience a different level of experience, says Lama.

The post production of the cinema was done at London whereas it was written by Sampada Malla.
