‘Mahapurush’, A Brilliant Cinema

The Cinema Times

The Cinema Times, Kathmandu-

When it comes from Maha Jodi and the blockbuster filmmaker Pradip Bhattarai, everyone hopes for brilliancy and that’s what the cinema ‘Mahapurush’ offers. After the grand premiere, the cinema is receiving all good words on the concept, performance and execution.

‘Mahapurush’ team organized a grand premiere on Sunday for cinema fraternity and media. After watching the cinema, everyone had one word to say, brilliant. In fact, words will fall short to commend on the cinema. The expectation that comes with such an amazing team is met with ‘Mahapurush’.

The cinema left most teary-eyed. Actor/Director Nischal Basnet says this will be a blockbuster continuation for director Bhattarai. Actor Swastima Khadka appreciated the newcomers Arun Chhetri and Anjana Baraili. Actors Keki Adhikari and Benisha Hamal believe the story plot will pull the audiences in. Actor Gauri Malla is convinced Mahapurush will be director Bhattarai’s best work till date.

‘Mahapurush’ is a tale of a father. A devoted father played by Hari Bansha Acharya who has sacrificed his life for his children, finds love in a woman played by Gauri Malla. His old age romance is unacceptable for his children and society. This brings dispute in otherwise a happy home.

The cinema makes everyone, especially the children, think about the happiness of the parents. Isn’t a father allowed to think about himself? Why is he called selfish if for once he tries to live his life? Is it always a father’s duty to sacrifice everything for his children? Shouldn’t the children reciprocate the sacrifice and be willing to see their father’s happiness!

From the director of blockbusters Jatra, Shatrugate and Jatrai Jatra comes ‘Mahapurush’. The cinema is full of emotions, romance and comedy. Written and directed by Pradip Bhattarai, ‘Mahapurush’ features Madan Krishna Shrestha, Hari Bansha Acharya, Rabindra Singh Baniya, Rajaram Paudel, Arun Chhetri, Anjana Baraili, Siru Bista, Kopila Thapa, Shikha Tamang, Kabita Shrestha among others. Actors Arun Chhetri and Anjana Baraili are introduced in Nepali cinema from ‘Mahapurush’.

Produced under Shatkon Arts, ‘Mahapurush’ will hit the theatres on Kartik 11.
