The Cinema Times, Kathmandu- Kartik Aaryan is set to headline the third installment of Aashiqui. ‘Aashiqui 3’ will be directed by Anurag Basu.

There have been various rumors brewing about the cast of ‘Aashiqui 3’ soon after its announcement. Kartik Aaryan is playing the male lead, that’s certain. But the female lead is yet to be finalized. T-Series released an official statement putting all rumors to rest.

Rumors were rife that popular television actress Jennifer Winget was starring opposite Kartik Aaryan. But the makers made it clear that there’s no truth in it. The search for the female lead is on. As per the statement, the idea for the cinema is in its early stage and as soon as the female lead is decided they would share it with the fans.

Aashiqui released in 1990 and the 32 years long partnership between T-Series and Vishesh Films continues with the announcement of ‘Aashiqui 3’. The much expected third installment with director Anurag Basu, music composed by Pritam will have the man of the moment Kartik Aaryan in the lead.

Aashiqui and Aashqui 2 were super hits at the box office thus increasing the expectations from ‘Aashiqui 3’. Aashiqui franchise has been the romantic genre and the chemistry between the leads Rahul Roy-Anu Aggarwal and Aditya Roy Kapur-Shraddha Kapoor was the highlight of the cinemas.
