Winners awarded at the 5th Kathmandu Short Fest – 2021

The Cinema Times, Kathmandu – Different short films have bagged awards at the ‘5th Kathmandu Short Film Fest – 2021’ organized by Chabichaya Creation in the capital on Sunday.

The award was organized in the presence of Film Development Board chairman Dayaram Dhahal where Nabraj Budathoki directed ‘House Husband’ won Encouragement Award, Laxman Subedi directed ‘Mehendi ko Rang’ won Best concept script award, Dipendra Lama directed ‘Shabdhan’ won Public Choice Award, Saroj Khanal directed ‘Bhihanimai astayeko surya’ won Jury award, Kalyan Adhikari bagged Short film director award,Puran Joshi directed ‘Maha Puja’ won Best documentary and Abvinav Shrestha directed ‘Sweet Sixteen’ won Best short film award.

Music Khabar dot com journalist Suman Bairagi was awarded with ‘Filmykhabar – Sabin smriti ranga patrakarita puraskar’ which was formed in the memory of film journalist Sabin Shakya and film magazine ‘Filmykhabar’. Bairagi was also awarded with cash prize of ten thousand and ten rupees.

‘The program was organized late due to the on going situation of covid-19’, said Shatipriya the chairman of the creation. At the program Pradip Kumar Udaya the chairman of Prabisha Prakashan also spoke about the current situation of Nepal film industry and impact of covid-19.

Certificates were also distributed to Prawan Bhusal, Renish Fago and Gopal Shakal as they were the jury of the award.
