‘Kathputali’ bagged two awards at the Winter Film Festival

The Cinema Times, Kathmandu – Nepali horror cinema ‘Kathputali’ has been able to bag two awards at the prestigious American international film festival ‘Winter Film Award’. The movie received ‘Best Horror Feature Film’ and ‘Indi Pics Award’. The festival which started from 23rd September will last time 2nd of October.

In the festival, Kathputali was selected for ‘Winter Fair Award Horror Film Competition’. The award might lead the movie for the OTT release of the movie at ‘Indi Pics’.

The producer Prithivi Rana is in high spirits after his movie bagged two awards. He further added, ‘my dream to take Nepali cinema in international platform has been fulfilled. I started my journey 20 years ago. Though I failed many times but my passion did not fade away. This award has given me more encouragement’.

Director Bhimsen Lama also said that the entire credit goes to the whole team for believing in him. The cinema stars Gauri Malla, Mithila Sharma, Karma, Shilpa Maskey, Usha Rajak, Subarna Thapa and others.

The post production of the cinema was done at London whereas it was written by Sampada Malla.
