The Cinema Times, Kathmandu –The fifth edition of ‘Global Nepali Cinema Award’ is scheduled to take place in Dallas, Texas. The organizers imparted the information about the award ceremony in a press conference held on Tuesday. To be jointly organized by Nepal Cinema Society, Global Nepali Cinema Award LLC USA and Association of Nepalese In The America, the award ceremony will be hosted on July 3.

Last four editions of the award ceremony were scheduled in other states of America. Due to the Covid pandemic, the award ceremony had to be halted in 2020 and 2021. The award ceremony will honor successful Nepali cinemas and Cine Workers and also encourage America based Cine Workers.

President of Global Nepali Cinema Award LLC USA, Navraj Shrestha said that the sole purpose of this award is to promote Nepali cinema abroad and also make Nepal a hub for cinema tourism. He further adds that to promote Nepal as the best shooting destination in the foreign land is the award ceremony’s sole objective. In the previous edition of the award ceremony, the organizers had invited Hollywood Cinema makers and also staged dances in Nepali songs.

The selection committee for the award ceremony will be constituted soon. The likes of Neer Shah, Shiva Shrestha, Karishma Manandhar, Ashok Sharma, Ujjwal Ghimire, Aryan Sigdel, Rabindra Khadka, Sarita Lamichhane, Arjun Pokhrel wished best for the award ceremony.
