Cinema halls in Nepal to re-open from first week of October

The Cinema Times, Kathmandu – Cinema halls in Nepal were shut down for a long period to prevent the spread of covid-19 virus. Nepal Film Association has decided to reopen all the cinema halls of Nepal from 7th October 2021 (Ashoj 21). It happens to be the day of Ghatsthapana.

A six-point decision has also been released and shared by the meeting chaired by Ashok Sharma. The association has also come to the decision of releasing foreign language films after two weeks. Until two weeks only Nepali cinemas will be released in theaters. Also it has been decided that the day Nepali cinema gets released, no other language films are permitted to be released.

In the case of distribution of shares of Nepali and foreign language cinemas, 55 percent shares will be distributed to the producers or distributors in the first week and 50 percent shares will be distributed starting second week.

The meeting has also decided that the release date of the movies to be screened within the next three months should be announced by September 6 (Ashoj 20).
