A Mero Hajur 4 Bumper Opening, despite uncooperative circumstance

The Cinema Times

The Cinema Times, Kathmandu- AMH4 is facing another unwanted thing. The theatre exhibitors are biased in the number of shows distributed between Nepali and South cinema.  While AMH4 continues to grow massively with every passing day, it is disheartening to see the theatre owners decreasing screen counts of the cinema. Looking at the spectacular success, the way audiences have accepted the cinema with open arms; the screen counts must zoom upwards. But the case is just the opposite.

‘A Mero Hajur 4’ released all over Nepal on the occasion of Nepali New Year. There were many obstacles posed prior to the release. Despite everything, the makers released the cinema and it minted bumper openings. AMH4 has opened with good numbers, despite tough competition from south cinema. As per the reports, it collected 80 lakhs on the first day. The cinema had a houseful opening and the first weekend will surely add magical numbers to it. AMH4 continues to grow massively at the box-office. The houseful boards across the country are proof enough that the cinema has worked big time.

For a cinema to get released on the scheduled date and get a fair chance in the number of shows, AMH4 team had to go through a lot. First, there were few from the cinema fraternity itself who pressured the team to postpone the release. But the team was steadfast in their decision. And once the cinema hit the theatres, it received overwhelming enthusiasm from audiences. The cinema got immense love and appreciation from the paying public and the audiences were seen crying uncontrollably on meeting their favorite stars, Anmol and Suhana. But, AMH4 is facing another unwanted thing.

In objection to the backlash of exhibitors towards AMH4, Secretary General of Nepal Film Association and Film maker Ashok Sharma has warned the hall owners of their wrong deed. Posting a status on social media, he has protested against the decreased number of shows despite good business of AMH4. This clearly indicates the pulse and politics of the exhibitors. It would have been understandable if the Nepali cinema wasn’t doing well, but AMH4 is marching ahead. Almost everyone thought clashing with a huge budgeted project will bring AMH4 and Anmol’s stardom to ashes. The myth has been busted and crushed to dust as the cinema is still running housefull.

At a time like this when everyone associated to Nepali cinema sector need to unite against all odds for the upliftment of Nepali cinemas, there are few discriminating their own home. Supporting foreign cinema to the extent of wrenching Nepali cinema will further paralyze the entertainment sector. There must be a stopping to this. Respecting the audience’s time, money and intelligence, we wish ‘A Mero Hajur’ 4 many weeks of success.
