‘Rammita Koo Pirati’ Trailer Brings Out a Refreshing Breakup Narrative

The Cinema Times

The Cinema Times, Kathmandu – The trailer of ‘Rammita Ko Pirati’, the debut directorial venture of Sudepta, has been officially released. Unveiled at a special event in Kathmandu on Sunday, the trailer has sparked curiosity among cinegoers. It hints at a layered narrative of love, betrayal and emotional fallout.

Director Sudepta calls it a breakup story than a typical love story. The cinema is told from a woman’s point of view, something that is still rare in Nepali cinema. ‘Rammita Ko Pirati’ aims to offer a refreshing shift by unapologetically exploring a woman’s mindset after heartbreak; her emotions, struggles and healing, through a distinctly different lens.

Actor Anna Sharma invested nearly six months working closely with the director to fully embody the character of Ramita. Actor Dhiraj Magar shared that the cinema aligns with his recent choice of women-centric narratives and will showcase him in a new avatar. He is gravitated toward stories driven by strong female characters than traditional hero-centric plots.

Scheduled to hit theatres on Magh 23, ‘Rammita Koo Pirati’ revolves around Ramita, portrayed by Anna Sharma. Director Sudepta believes the cinema’s breakup-driven narrative will offer viewers a fresh cinematic flavor. The cinema also marks the acting debut of singer Samir Shrestha. The cast includes Dhiraj Magar, Vinay Shrestha, Gaumaya Gurung, Pashupati Rai, Renu Yogit, Gianna, Thinley Lhamo, among others.

Though described as a breakup story, ‘Rammita Koo Pirati’ delves deeper into the emotional journey that follows the end of a relationship. Alongside her acting role, Anna Sharma is also involved as the cinema’s executive producer.

Presented by Sero Films, the production team includes Santosh Lamsal as executive producer, RP Production, Ganesh Pandey and Prabesh Lamichhane as associate producer, Subas Koirala as co-producer, and Sagar Lamsal as producer.

Music contributions come from Sushant KC, Samir Shrestha, Mahesh Kafle, Asmita AdhikariKushal Pokharel. Cinematography is by Shishir Bishankhe, editing by Sunil Shivabhakti, color grading by Kapil Parajuli, and choreography by Kritika Baral.

The cinema will be distributed in the Kathmandu Valley by Rich Entertainment and Apple Entertainment, while FD Company will handle distribution outside the valley.
