The Cinema Times, Kathmandu – Directed by the acclaimed poet and cinema maker Upendra Subba, the highly anticipated sequel ‘Jaari 2’ has concluded shooting. This is Subba’s third directorial venture and the production wrapped up in 36 days. The cinema was shot entirely in the scenic region of Panchthar. Baasuri Films confirmed that ‘Jaari 2’ is scheduled for a Dashain release.
While the exact release date is yet to be disclosed, the makers have already begun building anticipation by unveiling the character looks of the lead actors Dayahang Rai and Miruna Magar. In the released images, Miruna is seen in traditional Limbu attire, while Dayahang is depicted playing the cultural Chyabrung drum- highlighting the cinema’s strong connection to indigenous heritage. The cinema carries the tagline ‘Song of Chyabrung’.
‘Jaari 2’ is written by director Subba himself. He directed the blockbuster hit ‘Jaari’ in 2080 which grossed over 17 crores NRs in Nepali box office. Since the announcement of its sequel, expectations have been running high among audiences.
Produced under the banner of Baasuri Films and Kabaddi Films, the cinema is produced by successful cinemaker Ram Babu Gurung. Alongside Dayahang and Miruna, the cast includes Bijay Baral, Richa Sharma, Buddhi Tamang, Pushkar Gurung, Prem Subba, Maotse Gurung, Manahang Lawati, Bishnu Moktan, Kamal Mani Nepal, Anil Subba, Rekha Limbu, Bedana Rai and Sirjana Ninglekhu.
