The Cinema Times, Kathmandu – Set on a revolutionary path to create history, Nepali cinema ‘Balidan’ has entered the next phase of production after completing its shoot in 4 months. Santosh Sen’s much anticipated project ‘Balidan’ has been in the spotlight since the day of its announcement. Be it the announcement teaser, stellar cast, character looks, the set design, South Indian technicians, the patriotic storyline; all has hyped the cinema beyond.

Actors Sameer Bhatt and Reecha Sharma’s final shot was taken at Budha Subba maidan at Morang’s Hasina Simsar. The team has worked strenuously to create an epic story. Compromising on nothing, Sen vowed to leave no stones unturned for the betterment of Nepali cinema. The shoot was an uphill battle, but the challenges and the struggles have molded the project into an exceptional cinema.

Director Sen is grateful towards his team who dedicated themselves for the making of a remarkable cinema. They have worked tirelessly for four months. ‘We endured physical, mental, and emotional struggles to make this cinema outstanding, whether it was creation of story or selection of cast and crews, we have managed to exceed our expectations.’ says Sen. He further added that the sacrifices made by the entire team cannot be expressed in words, their work will be immortalized through the cinema.

The cinema stars Samir Bhatt, Saugat Malla, Arpan Thapa, Richa Sharma and other prominent actors, strengthening its appeal. With post-production set to begin, it has further heightened anticipation. The cinema is a product of passion and the desire to contribute to the nation. Sen and the team are excited with the encouragement they have received from the audiences, which have fuelled them to bring out a high quality cinema.

The patriotic storyline, involvement of exceptional actors and the use of technology has garnered special interest among the audiences. South Indian action director Sam led a 30 member team utilized advanced technology for the action sequences. A grand 42 feet tall Kali Mata statue constructed to shoot the climax added to the hype and also is evidence in making a remarkable cinema.

The music is being crafted by the Artmandu team, comprising singer Sujan Chapagain, lyricist Hark Saud and director Navin Chauhan. Presented by Asusen Films, the cinema is produced by Pawan Bradford Bista and co-produced by Prem Puri.

‘Balidan’ revolves around the fight against exploitation, injustice and societal oppressors within Nepal’s sovereign territory. A teaser with the announcement of the release date will come soon.
