The Cinema Times, Kathmandu – The official poster of ‘Pooja Sir: Rajagunj’ has released featuring the talented ensemble cast of Asha Magrati, Dayahang Rai, Nikita Chandak and Bijay Baral. The cinema releases on Chaitra 1.

The released poster offers a glimpse into this anticipated crime drama. The four leads looks ready for investigation with Rai in police’s attire. The cinema is directed by ‘White Sun’ famed Deepak Rauniyar. ‘White Sun’ was praised by the famous writer Paulo Coelho and was also listed in 9 debut directors to watch by The NewYork Times.

‘Pooja Sir: Rajagunj’ has already garnered accolades in several International Film Festivals. It was premiered at the 81st Venice International Film Festival and has since been shown at several festivals including the Busan International Film Festival and the Mumbai Film Festival with critics noting its compelling narrative as thrilling police procedural.

The cinema is inspired by real events during the 2015 race protests involving the Madhesh community where Inspector Pooja Thapa, portrayed by Asha Magrati, is dispatched to the village of Rajagunj to investigate the disappearance of two young boys.

‘Pooja Sir: Rajagunj’ is produced by Aadi Films, Baasuri Films and Tannhauser Gate, with a screenplay co-written by Deepak Rauniyar, David Barker and Asha Magrati. The cinema’s cinematography is by Sheldon Chau, edited by J  Him Lee and music composed by Vivek Maddala.
