Crowd Goes Once More as ‘Rammita Koo Pirati’ Breakup Anthem ‘Phone Nagar’ by Kushal Pokharel Unveiled at Butwal Concert

The Cinema Times, Kathmandu – Rapper Kushal Pokharel has introduced a brand-new song titled ‘Phone Nagar’ created for upcoming Nepali cinema ‘Rammita Koo Pirati’ headed for theatrical release on Magh 23. The song was unveiled at a live concert held in Butwal on Magh 1 with a crowd of over 5,000 spectators, where the audience responded with roaring applause and repeated chants of once more, reflecting the song’s instant connection.

The concert, organized as part of the cinema’s promotional campaign, saw Kushal perform the song live for the first time. Following the performance, the music video of the song was also screened for the audience, adding to the excitement surrounding the project. The event also featured performances by Anna Sharma, Samir Shrestha, Mahesh Kafle, Jamesy Hulaki and other popular artists.

The music video stars Kushal Pokharel and Anna Sharma and has been directed, shot and edited by Jholeyism. Zessty has choreographed the video, with Jenish Maharjan as cinematographer and Risheek Pradhan serving as the creative director.

‘Phone Nagar’features lyrics and vocals by Kushal Pokharel. The track’s music has been composed by Churchill Bhusal, while Kpaas handled the mixing and mastering, giving the song a polished sound tailored for today’s listeners. Kushal shares he was drawn to the project after witnessing the passion and commitment of the production team and the director. He added that the filming process was both enjoyable and creatively fulfilling.

The idea for the song was conceived nearly a year ago. It took time, but the team came together to create something meaningful. After several rounds of discussion, the lyrics was agreed upon by the seventh draft. The song is written from a woman’s perspective following a breakup.

According to producer Sagar Lamsal, similar promotional concerts are planned in Biratnagar, Birtamode, Dharan, Pokhara, Dhangadhi and Kathmandu, where artists associated with the cinema will continue engaging audiences across the country.

‘Rammita Koo Pirati’ revolves around Ramita, portrayed by Anna Sharma. Director Sudepta believes the cinema’s breakup-driven narrative will offer viewers a fresh emotional experience. The cinema also marks the acting debut of singer Samir Shrestha. The cast includes Dhiraj Magar, Vinay Shrestha, Gaumaya Gurung, Pashupati Rai, Renu Yogit, Gianna, Thinley Lhamo, among others.

One of the cinema’s songs ‘Timi Bhaye Kaafi’, particularly the line ‘Aaune Salaima Lagan Gantho, Sait Jurai’ has already gained massive traction on TikTok, garnering massive views. Sung by Samir Shrestha with music by Sashwat, the track has become a popular choice for reels and social media stories. The phrase ‘Adds your color’ has also emerged as a trending expression symbolizing the act of filling life with color after emotional emptiness.

Though described as a breakup story, ‘Rammita Koo Pirati’ delves deeper into the emotional journey that follows the end of a relationship. Alongside her acting role, Anna Sharma is also involved as the cinema’s executive producer.

The production team includes Santosh Lamsal as executive producer, RP Production, Ganesh Pandey and Prabesh Lamichhane as associate producer, Subas Koirala as co-producer, and Sagar Lamsal as producer.

Music contributions come from Sushant KC, Samir Shrestha, Mahesh Kafle, Asmita AdhikariKushal Pokharel. Cinematography is by Shishir Bishankhe, editing by Sunil Shivabhakti, color grading by Kapil Parajuli, and choreography by Kritika Baral.

The cinema will be distributed in the Kathmandu Valley by Rich Entertainment and Apple Entertainment, while FD Company will handle distribution outside the valley.
