The Cinema Times, Kathmandu – The much-anticipated Nepali cinema ‘Balidan’ has finally dropped its official teaser and it delivers an intense mix of patriotism, sacrifice, unrelenting fury, leaving audiences eager for more. Directed by Santosh Sen, the cinema promises to be a grand spectacle. Releasing this Fulpati, the teaser opens with an ominous proclamation: a part of the nation is under siege and stopping the enemy seems impossible.

Then enters Saugat Malla, appearing resolute with a torch, embodying unshakable determination. Hemant Budhathoki’s powerful voice follows, recalling sacrifices at Goddess Kali’s feet. Budhathoki appears in regal attire, while Arpan Thapa commands the screen as a strong-willed politician, further intensifying the storyline.

The emotional punch comes from Richa Sharma’s fiery dialogue in front of a towering statue of Goddess Kali: “When the innocent are slaughtered with monsters laughing, why do you remain silent? Has this soil stopped giving birth to heroes to strike those demons down?” The scene intercuts with visuals of indigenous tribes, featuring director Sen, himself in a striking cameo.

The teaser’s narrative escalates with the hero’s grand entry, Action King Samir Bhatt showcasing raw power in thrilling action sequences, he delivers the electrifying line: ‘This mother is never helpless nor empty wombed. She has given birth not only to sons, but to warriors.’ His explosive punch to the villain cements the teaser’s one of the most unforgettable moments, which closes with a glimpse of the ensemble cast and Bhatt battling with a massive spear.

Unveiling the teaser, director Sen declared that ‘Balidan’ is not just a cinema, but a rebellion that lives in every Nepali’s heart. Three years of blood, sweat, fragrance of soil and the cries of the silenced woes has given birth to this explosion of justice.

Earlier, the pre-teaser-released on Samir Bhatt’s birthday-went viral, trending on YouTube in Nepal and over a dozen countries, thanks to the patriotic fervor and high-octane action. Taking the hype a step further, the makers launched the Balidan banner campaign, plastering massive posters across the nation.

Produced under the banner of Asusen Films Pvt. Ltd., ‘Balidan’ stars Samier Bhatt, Saugat Malla, Arpan Thapa, Richa Sharma, Kabita Rai, Hemant Budhathoki and Prem Puri. The cinema is produced by Pawan Bradford Bisht, with Prem Puri serving as executive producer.

With its combination of fiery dialogues, symbolic imagery and breathtaking action, ‘Balidan’ is already being hailed as a defining cinematic moment, a bold milestone in the history of Nepali cinema.
