The Cinema Times, Kathmandu – The teaser of the highly awaited cinema ‘Jaari 2: Song of Chyabrung’, releasing on Asoj 3, has been unveiled, offering a vibrant glimpse into the heritage of the Limbu community.
Spanning 2 minutes 34 seconds, it opens with a witty quip likening a Limbu unfamiliar with the chyabrung dance to a “bare” mountain, then celebrating the Chyabrung rhythm as the heartbeat of Limbu joy.
Written and directed by Upendra Subba and produced by Rambabu Gurung, Madhu Mijar and Jivan Gurung, the cinema stars Dayahang Rai, Miruna Magar, Bijay Baral alongside a stellar cast including Buddhi Tamang, Richa Sharma, Pushkar Gurung, Prem Subba, Maotse Gurung, Manhang Lawati, Bishnu Moktan, Kamal Mani Nepal, Anil Subba, Rekha Limbu, Bedna Rai, and Sirjana Ninglekhu.
The teaser hints at a story deeply rooted in cultural identity, and woven with themes of family and social challenges.
Produced under the Baasuri Films and Kabaddi Films banners, following the runaway success of ‘Jaari’ (2080), which earned over NPR 170 million at the Nepali box office, this sequel is already positioned among the year’s most anticipated and potentially most successful releases.
