The Cinema Times, Kathmandu – Acclaimed actor Dayahang Rai has signed director Maotse Gurung’s second directorial venture ‘Pensionpatta’. This marks their second collaboration following the success of Gurung’s directorial debut ‘Dayarani’ in which Dayahang had played the lead. This collaboration is set to take their creative synergy to the next level.
Director Gurung shared that ‘Pensionpatta’ aims to deliver a polished and powerful story. While the title suggests a narrative about a retired person, Gurung clarified that the story centres on the transformation of a greedy man into a generous soul.
Produced under the banner of Maotse Gurung Films, the cinema is also written by Gurung himself. Apart from Dayahang Rai, details about the rest of the cast are yet to be revealed. Production manager D.B. Gurung confirmed that the shooting will begin from the third week of Kartik, with principal photography taking place in and around Pokhara. The cinematography will be handled by Sushan Prajapati and Suraj Tamang will serve as the casting director.
After making a memorable mark with his debut, Maotse Gurung has proven his storytelling strength. A powerful performer as a character actor, he is now carving a solid path as a director and a writer. He continues to evolve as a multi-faceted force- actor, writer, producer and director.
