The Cinema Times, Kathmandu – The first-look posters of Nepali cinema ‘Rimai’ directed by Khil Bahadur Gurung have been officially unveiled, along with the announcement of its worldwide release date. Marking the auspicious occasion of Buddha Jayanti, the promotional campaign kicked off with the launch of three distinct posters. The cinema is set to hit the theatres on Bhadra 27.
Presented by Gorkha Siranchok and Ligligkot Films Pvt. Ltd., in association with Roteping Entertainment, the cinema features Dayahang Rai, Rishma Gurung, Buddhi Tamang, Gaumaya Gurung, Arpan Thapa, Kavita Ale Magar, Maotse Gurung, Pushkar Gurung, Birmaya Gurung, Bir Bal Ghale, DB Gurung, Tek Gurung and child artists Ashim Subba, Prestu Gurung and Prasana Rana Magar among others.
The posters offer a glimpse into the characters’ cultural roots and aesthetic depth. The first poster introduces Dayahang Rai and Rishma Gurung, giving a subtle hint of their on-screen chemistry and characters’ depth. The second poster adds Gaumaya Gurung into the frame, expanding the scope of the narrative. The third and most comprehensive poster features all the key casts with a broader perspective on the cinema’s ensemble. The posters reflect the characters in authentic elements of Gurung culture.
The story is penned by celebrated writer and poet Uppendra Subba. The cinematography is helmed by renowned DOP Shailendra Dhoj Karki. The executive producer is Birbal Ghale with Tika Gurung, Jit Yatri Gurung and Dun Bahadur Ghale as producers. Co-produced by Binu Gurung, Roshan Bhattarai and Rajesh Ghimire , the cinema’s soundtrack is composed by Deepak Sharma and Thaneshwar Gautam. Kiran Chamling Rai is the chief assistant director. The crew includes Bishnu Mainali as production manager and Mitra D. Gurung as editor.
With strong performances, a culturally rooted narrative, the makers are confident that ‘Rimai’ will resonate with the audiences and the poster release will generate widespread excitement.
