The Cinema Times, Kathmandu – ‘Hrashwo Deergha’ is all set to sprinkle its magic on screen on Kartik 30. As the release date nears, audiences are frenzy to witness this magnum opus of Nepali cinema. Magnum opus in a sense that this multi starrer, big budgeted has been positively compared to South biggies, which must be considered as a compliment for Nepali cinema. The who’s who from Nepali cine industry to the South Indian stars, ‘Hrashwo Deergha’ hopefully will open doors for larger than life Nepali cinemas.
The debutant producer Neeta Dhungana rightfully says, when one is dedicated to the work, that unwavering devotion pays off. ‘Hrashwo Deergha wasn’t this humongous as a brain child, but with time our passion exceeded our fear. We decided on getting the best artists and crew on board and we did it. We did it for the betterment of Nepali cinema.’
Director Chandra Pant, who is the well-known action director in Nepali cinema, is making his directorial debut from this cinema. The making wasn’t a piece of cake, he faced rejections. But the rejections opened doors for better artists. Brahmanandam was also not ready to do it, but Pant went to meet him at Hyderabad and then he agreed. Similarly, Pradeep Rawat and Sunil Varma were cast. Bipana Thapa is making a comeback after 16 years. Kabir Lal as DOP has magnified the cinematic essence.
Actor Harihar Adhikari, who is also the writer of the cinema, is contented with the final work. The cinema is grand than what he had visualised while writing the story. He is hopeful on the audiences loving the cinema.
‘Hrashwo Deergha’ represents a fresh wave of creativity in Nepali cine industry. It is a testament to the potential of Nepali cinema to create stories that resonate on both local and global scale.
