The Cinema Times, Kathmandu – 7th Cine Circle Award felicitated Nepali cine workers in 25 categories, among which Nischal Basnet’s ‘Dimaag Kharaab’ won 5 prestigious awards including Best Cinema Award.
‘Dimaag Kharaab’ shone bright in the award night winning Best Cinema, Best Director for Nischal Basnet, Best Actor Female for Swastima Khadka, Best Cinematographer for Susan Prajapati and Best Editor for Nimesh Shrestha.
Actor Saugat Malla was named the Best Actor Male Award for his performance in ‘Agastya’ where Pramod Agrahari won Best Actor in a Negative Role and Shree Shrestha won Best Action Director award from the same cinema.
Upendra Subba took home the prestigious award for Best Debut Director and Best Screenplay Writer Award from ‘Jaari’. Similarly, the cinema Jaari also won award for the most Box office gross collection and Best Onscreen Jodi Award for Dayahang Rai and Miruna Magar.
On the other hand Naren Khadka and Surakshya Panta were named Best Actors by the critics for their performances in the cinema ‘Bulaki’. Director Pradip Shahi won the Critics’ Award from ‘Antim Sanskar’.
The Cine Circle Award also felicitated two senior technicians for their continuous dedication in the field. Editor Narendra Khadka and Make Up Artist Ashok Roka were honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award with 51 thousand cash prizes.

Best VFX: Anupam Gautam Sharma, Upahar
Best Poster Design: Rakesh Dahal, Bulaki
Best Trailer: Bande Prasad, Kandetar
Best Stunt: Laxman Century, Kandetar
Trensetter Award: Director Rambabu Gurung and Director Pradip Bhattarai
Director Mohan Niraula, Music composer Suresh Adhikari, Action Director NB Maharjan and Media person Krishna Bhattarai were the jury members of 7th Cine Circle Award 2080.
