The Cinema Times, Kathmandu- Mayor of Kathmandu Balen Shah has reached France accepting the invitation for the Cannes Film Festival. He will participate in the world premiere of the impossibly hyped cinema ‘Megalopolis’ from the director Francis Ford Coppola who is the recipient of five Academy Awards, six Golden Globe Awards, two Palme d’Or and a BAFTA . He is considered one of the greatest directors of all time.
As per the Mayor’s advisor Kumar Byanjankar, ‘Megalopolis’ is premiered for the VVIPs and Mayor Shah will participate in it. He will also walk the Red Carpet at Cannes. Before that, he is scheduled to meet Mayor of Cannes David Lisnard.
Director Francis Ford Coppola aged 85 unveils his major new cinema ‘Megapolis’ in the world premiere and official competition at the Cannes Film Festival 2024. It is one of the 22 cinemas competing for the Palme d’Or this year. Coppola has won Palme d’Or twice for The Conversation and Apocalypse Now. The Palme d’Or is the highest prize awarded at the Cannes Film Festival.
