Kriti Sanon on Nepotism and Struggles

The Cinema Times

The Cinema Times, Kathmandu – A daughter of a CA father and a professor mother, Kriti Sanon herself is an engineer graduate. Having no connections in Bollywood, yet it was her fate and dedication that brought her to shine in the glam world.

She made her debut in ‘Heropanti’ opposite Tiger Shroff. As an outsider it was a big break, but as an insider she had lots to do to make people know her name because at that time she was merely a ‘Tiger Shroff’s heroine’.

In an interview, she has spilled it all on how arduous her journey was. First it was her own family who opposed her idea of getting into this field. Then it was her first day experience that went awful. She messed choreography in a ramp show and got scolded in front of 50 models. Despite all this, she grew love for the camera and it was then her family who encouraged to pursue her dreams than regret all life.

Having no one to back her, she embarked on this journey all by herself. There were people calling her generic beautiful to people suggesting her to get her nose/teeth fixed. Amidst everything, she has now made a place for herself. Her performances in cinemas like ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’, ‘Mimi’ put her in the limelight and there’s no looking back. She received National Award for her performance in ‘Mimi’.

She has a fair view on nepotism. She feels it exists everywhere. The star kids may have the benefit of the easy entrance but they have their fair share of struggles. Recalling Heropanti days, she says- ‘Tiger was under constant pressure. He had this constant comparison and had to live up to his dad’s legacy. So, even for them it is not a piece of cake. And as for outsiders, it is more strenuous but it is one’s diligence that will take you places.’

Her next ‘Crew’ alongside Tabu and Kareena Kapoor Khan is getting all the right attentions.
