The Cinema Times, Kathmandu – As cinema maker Santosh Sen writes on his social media- “It was a challenging task hunting for a Yugpurush(supreme) actor in Nepal. The actor we had in our imagination required to have excellency in action, emotions, looks and dialog. Where on earth, will we find such talent in one! It was like looking for a needle in a haystack. But where there’s a will, there’s a way.
We found the Yugpurush ‘Balidan’ needed in Samir Bhatt.” Samir is son of Nepali action superstar Biraj Bhatt. In the first look poster of ‘Balidan’, Samir is featured in a bloodbath scene, drenched in blood with daring rebel in his eyes. The abs visible even when smothered in blood and the looks have already created the hype for the cinema.
‘Balidan’ has scripted a character as Yugpurush who will not fear carnage to butcher the culprits that played with the sacrifices of the people. “Asusen Films doesn’t fail to search new talent to fulfil and uplift Nepali cine sector; introducing Samir is one step towards it. We believe Samir will be the yugpurush Nepali cine sector was waiting for.” Nepali cine sector was lagging a full package hero and looking at how Samir has moulded himself, this scantiness will be fulfilled.
Samir was training himself since a decade for the cinema. He is taking lessons in Mumbai, India for acting, martial arts and gymnastics. A management graduate, Samir has taken acting lessons from Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute. He is currently residing at Andheri, Mumbai. He has also received good responses from Bollywood and South Indian cinema makers.
Hyped as Santosh Sen’s mega project, Balidan’s teaser was released before commencement of the shoot and grabbed audiences’ attention. The cinema has been put forward as a war for sovereignty against those who sacrificed the lives of common people in the name of change.
