The Cinema Times, Kathmandu – The ‘Loot’ famed director has finally come up with a cinema. It is obvious that the audiences have their expectations high. ‘Dimaag Kharaab’ is generating all the marvelous hype with its promotional content. The second song released is also garnering good responses from the audience.

Director Nischal Basnet says the team has worked day and night and given their all for the best outcome. The cinema has a political edge to it but he confirms ‘Dimaag Kharaab’ is a social drama about a person whose sole purpose is to feed his family and live a simple life. One cannot portray a story without mentioning the haphazard system, yet the cinema is made for pure entertainment with a hint of message here and there. The captain of the cinema, Basnet is satisfied with the project and leaves the final outcome to the audiences.

Actor Swastima Khadka was usually pestered with this question when will she work with her director husband. Finally they have worked together in a cinema. Swastima says that Nischal is the coolest and very chilled director on set. There were o’course certain creative differences but there wasn’t a time when Nischal lost his cool. Swastima is content with the cinema making process and believes the audiences will like her character.

Actor Khagendra Lamichhane also had a pleasant experience working in this cinema. He turned into a director’s actor and performed as required. He thinks if one gets too involved then the perspective of the cinema can change which shouldn’t happen. He was involved in the script writing, loved the character he portrays and is optimistic regarding the cinema.

Talking about the song, penned by composer Babul Giri ‘Jhamke Jhamaa Jham’ is sung by Sumit Khadka and Namrata Kafle. Composer Babul Giri is all praise for the director Nischal Basnet. He says, “Normally directors don’t give much attention in the making of the songs. They think it is the composer’s duty. But, Basnet listened to the song and it was re-recorded. His dedication is praise-worthy.” All lead actors are featured in the promotional song.

Ltd. ‘Dimag Kharab’ features Khagendra Lamichhane, Dayahang Rai, Arpan Thapa, Swastima Khadka, Bijay Baral, Suman Karki, Puskar Gurung, Maotse Gurung, Rama Thapaliya in pivotal roles. The cinema is produced by Raunak Bikram Kandel with Suraj Bam Thakuri as Executive Producer. The team comprises Susan Prajapati as cinematographer, Nimesh Shrestha as editor, Rajkumar Uprety in action and Rohit Shakya as background scorer.

Director Nischal Basnet has returned to the captaincy after six years with ‘Dimaag Kharaab’. Will ‘Dimaag Kharaab’ live up to the expectations! Only time will tell. The cinema will hit the theatres on Kartik 24.
