The Cinema Times, Kathmandu- National Film Award 2080 was organized at Shital Niwas where President Ram Chandra Poudel distributed the awards to the winners.
This year award on different categories were distributed except Best Film Award. The jury award was given to ‘Aina Jhyalko Putali’ and ‘Gurkha: Beneath the Bravery’.
Director Dinesh Raut was awarded the Best Director Award from the cinema ‘Prakash’. The Best Male Actor award went to actor Hari Bansha Acharya from ‘Mahapurush’ and the Best Female Actor was given to Deeya Maskey from ‘Prakash’.
Dipendra K. Khanal won the Best Screenplay award for his work in ‘Chiso Maanchhe’. Purushottam Pradhan got the award for the Best Cinematographer for ‘Lappan Chhappan 2’ and Nimesh Shrestha was awarded Best Editor from ‘Dokh’.
The award for Indigenous Film category went to ‘Hyulan Chhaya Ba’.
Similarly, Actors Shiv Sundar Shrestha and Laxmi Giri were felicitated with lifetime achievement award.
Tulki and Nirmaya were given special film awards for the year 2078. Bulaki, Prasad 2 and Chiso Manchhe won the special film award for the year 2079. 35 cineworkers were felicitated for their contribution in the industry.
In the event Minister for Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma talked about cinema policy and also informed the process on making cine law. She also gave her words on helping the cine sector produce qualitative cinema to compete internationally.
Speaking in the event Chairperson of Film Development Board Bhuwan KC stressed on the governmental work for the betterment of cine industry.
