The Cinema Times, Kathmandu- It came as a shock to all when social media flooded with the news of actor and founder singer of Robin and the New Revolution rock band Robin Tamang’s sudden demise; especially when the status of his own death was posted on his own facebook page. All his fans and well-wishers wanted and prayed for this news to be fake. But, the news that surfaced was true. Robin Tamang is no more.

He passed away on Tuesday at his residence in Budhanilkantha at the age of 60. As per his family sources, he was sleeping in his room at the time of death. His body has been sent to Teaching Hospital for post-mortem.

With his last breath, an era of Nepali rock music has come to an end. He had a powerful presence both on stage and on the silver screen. He was well-known for playing the character of Yama Nadu in the Amazon Prime series, The Last Hour. He starred in 2013 cinema Chhadke as Chhewang and what a character it was. Since then, there was no looking back. He became a prominent face in Nepali cinemas. Mukhauta, Dal Bhat Tarkari, Jay Parshuram, Mero paisa Khoi, Naka, Chiso Ashtray, Chhadke 2 had his performance.

He was idolized by many and his songs Bhool Ma Bhulyo, Dum Maro Dum, Keta Keti, Nepal, Shine on Me and others are among the best.
