The Cinema Times, Kathmandu– Miss Nepal 2017 Nikita Chandak has signed Nepali cinema ‘Rajagunj’. She made her debut with Saanglo opposite Biraj Bhatta. The cinema will be directed by acclaimed director Deepak Rauniyar and will be produced by Ram Babu Gurung.

‘Rajagunj’ is a race-against-time police thriller that will feature two women protagonists. It features Nikita Chandak, Dayahang Rai and Asha Magarati in pivotal roles.

Acting has always been Nikita’s passion and she is all excited and a little bit nervous to share the screen with veteran actors like Dayahang Rai and Asha Magarati. Crowned Miss Nepal in 2017, she has modeled for different brands and recently starred in the cinema titled The Shameless directed by Konstantin Bojanov.

After earning numerous National and International awards from his previous works White Sun and Highway, director Deepak Rauniyar is set to direct ‘Rajagunj’. The New York Times gave him a special mention as one of the 9 new directors you need to watch after White Sun. Even renowned writer Paulo Coelho praised his cinema.

Filmmaker Ram Babu Gurung is pleased to collaborate with director Rauniyar. They have known each other since early days of filmmaking and he is elated to finally work with him.

The joint venture of Aadi Films and Baasuri Films, ‘Rajagunj’ will start shooting from July 28 from Janakpur. The cinema will also feature Richa Sharma, Pashupati Rai, Bijay Baral, Gaumaya Gurung, Ghanshyam Mishra, Aarti Mandal and Pushpa Yadav.
