The Cinema Times, Kathmandu- Parastree team had organized a grand premiere prior to its release. The team received positive responses from all. Director Sयूraj Pandey’s debut was applauded.

‘Parastree’ is Suraj Pandey’s directorial debut. The cinema has a unique storyline based on thrill, crime and deceitful human behavior. It deals with extra marital affairs gone wrong and how one turns into a criminal in the name of love and lust.

Written by Deependra K. Khanal, the suspense thriller genre ‘Parastree’ garnered good responses in the premiere. The cine workers and cine journalists appreciated the cinema wholeheartedly. The likes of directors Gyanendra Deuja, Diwakar Bhattarai and actors Khagendra Lamichhane, Swastima Khadka, Mukun Bhushal, Anjana Baraily and others had graced the premiere.

Actor Swastima Khadka admired the actors’ work after watching the cinema. It is a new presentation in Nepali cine industry, thus she feels the audiences will like it. Swastima and the director Suraj Pandey had worked together as actors in a cinema before. They were very young back then, remembering those days, she feels very proud in seeing Suraj’s work as a director. Similarly, Khagendra Lamichhane says the cinema is an edge-of-your-seat thriller. They appreciated all three protagonists’ performances.

Actor Gaurav Bista has entered the world of cinema from ‘Parastree’ and his performance is appreciated. He easily carries out his role and doesn’t once make it look like his first. On the other hand, Koshish Chhetri is a natural when it comes to dark roles. In ‘Parastree’ too, he has given his best and pulled off the psychological aspect of the character very well.

Actress Shilpa Maskey had researched well for her character portrayal. It took quite a time for her to get in depth of the character and she has done a marvelous job.

Actor Koshish Chhetri says Parastree talks about the story prevalent in our society which is not much talked about. To present such a story was definitely not easy without the whole team coming together. Actor Shilpa Maskey enjoyed the cinema and is happy with the final product. She hopes the audiences will like it too.

The positive responses have overwhelmed the team and they are expecting the same from the audiences.

‘Parastree’ is ready to be released in both Nepali and Hindi languages. The cinema features Shilpa Maskey, Koshish Chhetri, Gaurav Bista, Alisha Chhetri in pivotal roles. It was released in Nepal on Asar 14 and will be released in cinemas worldwide on June 30 (Asar 15).
