The Cinema Times, Kathmandu- ‘Pathaan’ came under massive attack after the makers dropped the first song ‘Besharam Rang’. All the controversies because Deepika put on a saffron colored bikini, which is considered sacred in Hinduism. It is not the first time Bollywood cinemas have come under these attacks.
Shah Rukh Khan is making a comeback in ‘Pathaan’ after four long years. He was last seen in a full-length role in the 2018 cinema Zero. But, looks like this comeback is stuck in controversies with politicians trying to ban this cinema.
The recently released song from the cinema Besharam Rang which features Deepika Padukone in a bikini is being objected. Certain groups claimed that the song affected the sentiments of the Hindu community and demanded the ban of the cinema. The protestors even burnt effigies of SRK. Madhya Pradesh Home Minister not only took objection to the outfits but also said the song is made with a contaminated mentality. The female actor clad in green and saffron clothes considered sacred in Hinduism, shown in obscene manner is what landed the cinema in trouble.
SRK broke his silence for the first time about the boycott call. “Contrary to the belief that social media will affect cinema negatively, I believe cinema has an even more important role to play now. I read somewhere that negativity increases social media consumption and thereby increases its commercial value as well. And I have no qualms in saying that no matter what the world does, me and you, and all positive people in the world are alive.”
While the Bollywood community and many fans of Shah Rukh Khan couldn’t stop showering love on his cinema ‘Pathaan’, the cinema has been facing some issues in certain territories of India.
