The Cinema Times, Kathmandu- Actor Paul Shah is convicted for child sexual abuse by the Nawalpur district court. In the verdict Shah is acquitted of the rape charge though. He gets 2.5 years sentence and is ordered to pay ten lakhs rupees as compensation.

He was accused of continuously raping a 17 years old girl during a music video shoot with false promise of marriage. Complaints were filed likewise initially but later the girl changed her statement of rape and said she was provoked to lodge the complaint.

In the hearing, six lawyers representing Shah defended his case. A bench of Judge Yagya Prasad Acharya made the decision and sentenced Shah to two and a half years in prison for child molestation. He was found not guilty for the rape charges.
