The Cinema Times, Kathmandu- Michael Adhikari received an overwhelming positive response in the premiere. All present at the premiere said the cinema is a combination of entertainment and message. All admitted to being Saugat Malla’s fan beforehand and after watching the cinema fully appreciated Shristi’s execution.
Saugat Malla and Shristi Shrestha starrer ‘Michael Adhikari’ received good reviews in its premiere. The production team had organized a premiere show where cine workers, journalists, and politicians appreciated the cinema. The cinema was already hyped because of the plot chosen which is entirely new for Nepali cinema. The story and the performances were praised.
Actor Rekha Thapa liked Shristi Shrestha’s performance and admitted to shedding tears three times. She further added that she admired Shristi since Miss Nepal time and wished she joined the cinema industry. During lockdown Rekha had seen Shristi perform in one series and instantly became her fan. Overall she has no words to describe both Shristi and Saugat’s act. She feels every parent and children should watch the cinema.
Rajendra Lingden, President of Rastriya Prajatantra Party said the cinema is a combination of entertainment and message. He watched a cinema after a long time and thoroughly enjoyed ‘Michael Adhikari’. He believes the realistic approach will provide new dimensions to Nepali cine sector. Likewise, Chairperson of Rastriya Swatantra Party Rabi Lamichhane also commended the concept of the cinema and powerful performances of the protagonists. Singer Anand Karki was confident that the cinema will have a grip on the audiences throughout.
Dr Bhola Rijal applauded the makers’ courage in emphasizing the concept of surrogacy. He said the concept pulled him to the premiere despite his busy schedule. This is a new story that doesn’t only tell the story of a rented womb but connects society and human sentiments. Actor and Model Sraj Garach also appreciated Shristi’s acting and Saugat Malla as usual doesn’t fail to impress.

The cinema is based on the concept of surrogacy. A couple decides to rent the wife’s womb for another couple’s child and what follows is the turmoil the surrogate mother goes through when it comes to handover the child, her child that she nurtured for nine months.
Directed by Ranjeet Rauniyar ‘Michael Adhikari’ has a different story plot and attempts an unexplored story in Nepali cinema.
