The Cinema Times, Kathmandu – When Cinema maker Santosh Sen and Prem Geet 3 team had a vision- vision to introduce Nepali cinema worldwide, vision to open gates for Nepali cinema to the world market, vision to make it big! There were few who backed them and many who thought it was impossible. But, to achieve a big dream one needs to believe in oneself. And now, as we see ‘Prem Geet 3’s huge posters in hoarding board of Mumbai, PG3’s news in Indian news portals and the excitement to watch the first Indo-Nepali cinema; we know Sen’s dream has turned into reality.
India’s different cities are colored with huge posters of ‘PremGeet 3’ and this has created a wave among Nepali cine lovers. This is definitely a huge achievement for Nepali cinema. This is not just a success of ‘Prem Geet 3’, but a pavement for Nepali cinema into the world market. As Santosh Sen posts in his social media- These boards where Hollywood and Bollywood cinema posters were placed are now covered with Nepali cinema posters. This brings utter pleasure not because this is my cinema, but from Nepali audiences’ view a Nepali cinema getting coverage in dreamland Mumbai is a matter of pride.
Dreaming is nothing without action and it wasn’t a piece of cake for the team to dive into world cinema. In 50 years of Nepali cine history, they took this risk. It has opened doors for other cinemas too. Sen says, now it’s time to present our cinemas to the world. If we keep releasing Nepali cinema in the Indian market, our investment will be safe. Only by selling cinemas in OTT platforms, we can gain crores of profit. He also has asked all for support. This is not the time to talk negatively or discourage the process. We are making way towards light; Nepali cinemas should be released worldwide.
The Hindi dubbed version of ‘Prem Geet 3’ will reach audiences worldwide. Nepali location, Nepali story, Nepali actors, Nepali technicians, a true Nepali cinema is on the verge of reaching to ultra-modern multiplexes. If ‘Prem Geet 3’ will be appreciated and we hope they do, Nepali cine sector will flourish in a way no one has imagined. Thus, for the upliftment of the Nepali cinemas it’s high time to support ‘Prem Geet 3’.
‘PremGeet 3’ will be released all over Nepal and India on 23rd September.
