Singer-composer KK died in Kolkota at the age of 53 after performing in a concert. He was in the city for a two day concert. According to sources, KK felt unwell during the concert. He complained of uneasiness but performed till the end of the event. The 53 years old singer collapsed after a cardiac arrest at the hotel where he was staying after the concert in Nazrul Mancha auditorium. He was subsequently taken to hospital. Doctor at CMRI hospital said the singer was brought dead.
Krishnakumar Kunnath, whose stage name was KK, was known for songs like Pal and Yaaronwhich went on to become hits among teens during late 1990s. His 1999 debut album Palwas critically acclaimed. From the early 2000s, he blazed a career in playback singing and recorded a wide range of popular Bollywood songs, Tadap Tadap, Kya Mujhe Pyaar Hai, Ankhon Mein Teri, Khuda Jane and many others. KK has recorded songs in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malyalam, Marathi and Bengali, among other languages
