Anmol KC, the star who loves criticism

The Cinema Times

The Cinema Times, Kathmandu – There are two kinds of actors. Those who get deeply affected by reviews. And those who pretend not to be affected by reviews. And there is Anmol, who says criticism, backlash, and taunts help him get better as an actor.

Anmol KC is a star in Nepali cinema but he has had his fair share of public and media backlash. The actor, who will soon be seen on the silver screen in A Mero Hajur 4, was asked about living life in the spotlight and how he dealt with loads of criticism. Responding to how he deals with nasty things written about him, Anmol said, “It doesn’t bother me. In fact, it keeps me grounded. These criticisms don’t let me gloat, rather put me in place and make me work harder.”

There are two kinds of actors. Those who get deeply affected by reviews. And those who pretend not to be affected by reviews. And there is Anmol, who says criticism, backlash, taunts help him get better. He takes all these very positively. In his own words, “I didn’t know much about acting during Hostel and Jerry. Then started taunts about my poor acting skill. This made me realize my weaknesses and I started improving myself.”

Anmol says he enjoys trolls made on him. He even requests them not to forget him. Being very sensible he further put in, “No one is perfect. We just try to reach perfection. We all are struggling, improving, trying to get better. So am I.”

Anmol is unfazed by criticisms. But, says A Mero Hajur 4 will be a likeable cinema even for those who dislike his acting. He believes the cinema will elicit emotional response from everyone. A Mero Hajur 4 will hit the theatres this New Year.
